Schooled in LA and NY, Gina entered the commerical art field working as a package designer and an art director in various design firms and ad agencies before founding her own firm in 2003. In mid-career, facing a cancer diagnosis, she set aside her laptop and picked up a paintbrush...

ARTIST STATEMENT

​

My work confronts our modern era’s exaltation of individual freedom and autonomy through references to human 

limitation and connection to place. There are few people, if any, in my pieces. But traces of cars and planes suggest blurred movement without roots. My work raises the question of how well lives are being lived, and souls are being fed,

in a high-tech world, as contemplated through moments of perceived risk and constant transition.
